Founder-Creator
STATEMENT

As someone who previously built an identity, life, & career within multiple limiting systems that weren’t my own, I have long envisioned the freedom of my own ecosystem where I could do three things well — (1) enjoy a big simple life, (2) embrace my highest creative, intellectual, & spiritual authority, and (3) serve the world for the better. The seeds for this vision were planted back in 2015, and my talented friends at Be More Media filmed me speaking about it.

HOW IT STARTED

HOW IT’S GOING
A decade later, I’ve clocked over 87,000 hours of lived, worldbuilding experience and learned so much about my true identity, work, and territory. So much has changed personally, professionally, emotionally, and spiritually — but the core of the vision to create at the highest level while getting really good at being (and enjoying!) myself has remained the same.
Today, Republic of Akita Global is first and foremost a space for me to learn, create, share, and get free on my own terms. And coming in at a very, very, very close second, it’s a space for other creators who appreciate an embodied body of work that makes it easier to access their highest operating system yet. Because I know when we operate differently, the whole world expands. I want you to have access to that knowing, too. ROAG is my gift to both of us: better systems, better creators, better worlds. Let’s receive it, together.
BIO
Kaira Akita is a category defining founder-creator making better worlds possible for herself and the public, private, creative, and tech sectors in the U.S. and beyond. Powered by two decades of unique lived wisdom and transformative entertainment industry experience, Kaira’s next chapter centers her innovation genius for seeing people, the work, and the narrative in all their deeper moving parts — and then weaving those parts into strategic, creative structures that challenge and expand how we connect with ourselves, each other, and the world around us.
At the core, Kaira believes our precious human energy is best spent not fighting old world systems, but creating better ones of our own from the inside out. She puts this core belief to the test daily — learning to enjoy a big, simple life; leading her own ventures for the creator diaspora via her Republic of Akita Global portfolio; and writing, speaking, and skill-sharing along the way with her signature style of intimacy, inquiry, and inspired socio-personal action.
Previously, Kaira earned her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Georgia and started her career leading marketing, editorial, and events for the Tony award-winning Alliance Theatre before segueing out front as one of the pioneering local actresses in Atlanta’s early entertainment scene — best known for fan favorite roles in Why Did I Get Married, The Family That Preys, and the Sundance film turned BET’s first scripted television series, Somebodies. Additionally, her directing projects and works-in-progress have been featured at Women in Film Los Angeles’ Mentor Circle Program, the Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival, Niecy Nash’s Chocolate Chick Inc. production company, Kids at Play, BET, Food Network, Hallmark Channel, TV One, and most recently, the 2024 HerArts Film Lab in Paestum, Italy.
Kaira originally hails from Washington DC and was raised in Wiesbaden, Germany as a first-generation global creative Black girl with her parents, Willie and Donna, and her sister Kia. She lives and works in her own sweet (s)pace between Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Johannesburg.
