Making New Worlds
Possible,
Inside & Out.

As someone who previously built an identity, life, & career within multiple limiting systems that weren’t my own, I have long envisioned the freedom of my own ecosystem where I could do three things well — (1) lead a big simple life, (2) embrace my highest creative, intellectual, & spiritual authority, and (3) serve the world for the better. The seeds for this vision were planted back in 2015, and my talented friends at Be More Media filmed me speaking about it.

HOW IT STARTED

HOW IT’S GOING
A decade later, I’ve clocked over 87,000 hours of lived, worldbuilding experience and learned so much about my true identity, work, and territory. So much has changed personally, professionally, emotionally, and spiritually — but the core of the vision to create at the highest level while getting really good at being (and enjoying!) myself has remained the same.
Today, Republic of Akita Global is first and foremost a space for me to study, create, share, and get free on my own terms. And coming in at a very, very, very close second, it’s a space for other creators who are ready for a little nudge to step into their highest operating system yet. Because I know when we operate differently, the whole world expands. I want you to have access to that knowing, too. ROAG is my gift to both of us: better systems, better creators, better worlds. Let’s receive it, together.

BIO
Based in Los Angeles, Atlanta, & Johannesburg, Kaira Akita is a global founder-creator making new worlds possible for herself & the creator diaspora at the intersection of art, business, communal care, the designed environment, and elevated consumer product experiences. No matter the category, Kaira has a gifted-divergent superpower for seeing people, the work, and the narrative in all their moving parts and then weaving them into strategic, creative frameworks that expand how we connect with ourselves, each other, and our work in the world.
At the core, Kaira believes our precious human energy is best spent not fighting old systems, but creating new ones of our own from the inside out. She puts this core belief to the test daily — learning to live a big, simple life and leading Republic of Akita Global, a portfolio of intimate, specialty ventures inspired by two decades of her own personal & professional creative craft.
Previously, Kaira earned her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Georgia and started her first and second careers in Atlanta’s nonprofit arts and early entertainment scene, including breakout supporting & starring roles in Why Did I Get Married, The Family That Preys, and the Sundance film turned BET’s first scripted television series, Somebodies. A skilled storyteller, she also developed, wrote, and directed works featured in the Women in Film Los Angeles Mentor Program, the Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival, The Merge Summit, Cleo TV, and most recently, the 2024 HerArts Film Lab in Paestum, Italy.
Kaira originally hails from Washington DC and was raised in Wiesbaden, Germany as a first-generation global creative Black girl with her parents, Willie and Donna, and her sister Kia.
